Hey guys I just bought a kessil 360we that is over my 48 gallon bow front tank. I bought it from someone and didn't get an instruction manual for it so was wondering what is the best ways to acclimate my fish and corals to the light. I originally had a marine orbit LED light on my tank but that is considered a piece a junk compared to the kessil. Any suggestions on what has worked best for you guys when acclimating? I have mostly softies, leathers, and LPS corals. Also is the kessil only able to ramp up and down with an Apex? I have a controller for it bit being that I don't have a booklet for it I'm not sure exactly how to run it
Thanks in advance guys

Yes, the kessil can be controlled with an apex. you'll need to get the cable to connect it. They are fairly strong so I'd start it out at about 35% intensity and slowly ramp 1% every couple of days. I've got mine on a 20" deep, 24" square cube and I'm at 51%. The cube seems to reflect a lot of light off the glass back into the tank. Setting the color is more of a personal preference...mine is at 35%. The way they're designed you can't ramp up and down from 0%. They turn on / off at 15%.

Would you recommend the kessil lights?

Yes! Prior to the kessil's I had AI Vega Colors. I could never really get them dialed in and couldn't grow sps. With the kessil's I've been able to grow everything.

Why not just buy the Spectral Controller. Yes it does have a 14 day acclimation setting.

I have that but I was just curious on the manual aspect of it if I should set the settings myself

Im just starting to transfer some of my corals over to the Kessil's . Just set up a 40 gallon breeder with 2 A360-we's over it. I set up a light schedule on the Spectral Controller peaking at 40% color and 40% intensity. The corals I transferred so far are, 1- Hammer Highlighter, 1-Hammer , 1- Duncan 1- pom pom xenia. Placement is at the bottom of the tank and all are doing well. I placed a Monti Frag at the top and the kessil's burnt it right up at 40% - 40%. Tonight I placed a Acropora, Kenya Tree and another Monti Frag at the bottom of the tank and will see how they respond. These are my first Kessil's so it's a learning curve for me also. Love the light's though. I was running Radion Gen 2's on my other tanks and wasn't getting any growth.

Hammer Highlighter under 40% 40% peak at the 5 day mark. No signs of stress or bleaching so far.
