Ok so I finally but the bullet and upgraded from my current usa lights and got two Kessil a360x lights and was wondering if the default lighting schedule is good or if there was a better option. I’ve got it set to acclimation for 14 days but I don’t want to have less light than what the corals are used to but I don’t want to over light them either. The acclimation is starting at %20. The tank is mostly zoas. But I’ve also got 3 heads of frogspawn an alvepora a galaxia and 2 heads of Duncan’s. Thank you in advance for the help.

The default schedules are always a good starting point. 14 days is probably too much; myself I'd do it over 2-3 days max. A PAR meter will be the best way to gauge if the new light settings are providing more or less lighting than your previous lights.

I’ve pretty much been guessing and just watching what my corals where doing to determine placement par meter is on the list to purchase but it was like pulling teeth to get the clearance from the wife to upgrade lights. Especially since I ordered a new tank at the same time. I just know these Kessils are way stronger than the current lights and don’t want to kill any of my corals I’m slightly attached to them.

I don't know... I think 14 days is fine, its not 20% for the entire 14 days, it slowly ramps up I think and in the wild its not uncommon to have a couple of weeks of stormy weather and overcast skies. That being said It would be too hard either to manually up the power over time and make a judgement call when to stop upping it.

Do I need to add any color to the settings the default doesn’t look like it’s got any red Violet or green.

Check out BRSTV YouTube channel on how to setup and adjust the 360Xs on certain size tanks. Use that as a baseline until you get a hold of a PAR meter.
That’s how I setup a 360x on my new 60 cube. I never bothered with “acclimation” program.

As for color, you can turn the “color” knob to emit the color of your liking. But it’s best to get the Kessil controller or dongle to maximize spectrum output.

I’ve got the WiFi dongle.

Perfect. Per BRSTV: 0% green, 20% red, and 100% everything else.
Watch the video to be sure.

Power (Color Bar)

10% (0 color) 11:00am

50% (50 color) 1:00

100% (25 color) 3:00

50% (0 color) 9:00

0% (shut off) 11:00pm

When using the dongle I find I have to be >8ft from the device for it to connect. The connection can be a little finicky at times but you don’t have to connect often once they’re set to the program you like anyway.

You will need a cable connecting the light with the Dongle to the 2nd slave light. Kessil sells the K-link cable but any USB-C to USB-C cable will work just as good. I like the cables with the 90* end connectors to hide the wire a little easier. Make sure the manual power dial on top your slave light(s) is turned all the way down so if the Master light loses power for some reason they will both be off. If the power is cut from the master, the slave will automatically go to the manual dial settings on the fixture. Rare it could/would happen, but you don’t want the possibility of the light running 24/7 if it does happen.

For color setting, 20% to 40% is my preferred range, but you can’t choose a bad setting (Kessil logic prevents it). Pick something that’s pleasing to you. Slowly add violet to match your peak intensity, but go slow and add 5% a week or so until you reach your peak intensity. Red and green is to taste, but you’re safe adding 5% to 20% max, I think 5-10% is a better range, but that’s my preference. Just use the basic tuna blue quick set program and adjust to your schedule. Peak intensity should be 6-8hrs and the ramp up/down can be 2-3hrs or whatever you prefer. I’ve always used a 12hr cycle with Kessil’s and it has never failed to deliver. The key here is to go slow and observe your corals, they’ll survive in lower light a lot longer than too much light.

You are fine. All those corals are fine at 50mm PAR. And you cant make mistakes dialing in Kessils
