Kessil Lights and Coral Growth

very new to the kessil community...i have 3 A360WE's over my 220 gallon tank...it is 28 inches deep... I have only soft corals with zoas and would like to know if I can run the intensity at 100% for a 10 hour stretch and go up in spectrum to say 65% for 4 hours then back down...would this be too much? thanks for all info i do appreciate your time.

According to the folks in this thread, it should be okay... BUT... I kept killing everything at 85%. I run ramp up and down, from minimum (12%) to 60% and back down over 10 hours. Spectrum from all blue to 70% white/30% blue ramping at the same basic time, and that is where I am seeing the best growth... I don't have much SPS, though, mainly LPS and zoas

I fun mine at 40% color and 100% intensity for about 8 hours with a ramp in color and intensity on either end. I'm getting crazy growth out of my Monti caps, Duncan, and chalices.

Open your dashboard on fusion, find the two variable speed outlets that your lights are plugged into (making sure you know which is the intensity and which is the color). Click on the "settings" icon (the gear) and the screen you see will come up with flat lines. Just grab the lines where ever you want and pull them up the graph. Each place you "pull" will become a dot. When you are done, you can either "preview" it (your lights will go through the time cycle in 24 seconds) or upload it...

Oh, I see why mine doesn't look like that. I used profiles and code to control my lights. If you use the wizard, you can get the graphs like that.

I run a mixed reef sps, lps, and Zoas in a 20gal tall. I run a kessil 350w and I run it at 75% on both blue and white for 10 hrs a day. And I have had about 50% growth on everything except my sps which is more like 25%

So you just leave it at 75% and then change the color through out the day?

+1 what Finn said. 12 hrs, ramp up for 4, steady for 4 and ramp down for 4. Mine are set at 63 intensity and 55 color and I'm seeing growth on everything. My superman rhodactis just split for the 2nd time in less than 2 months. An orange monti has almost trippled since May. SPS's are all showing growth and a blasto and acan are both growing more that 3 heads / polyps each. I've got a 75g tank with the lights about 10" above the water.

What are you running it on the controller? Do you have a pic of your schedule if possible

Whats your schedule

90 minute ramp up from 0 to 40% color, hold for 8 hours, the reverse ramp down to 0% color.

60 minute ramp up to 100% intensity, then ramp back down to zero an hour before bedtime.

I have problems with my torch and octospawn if I go below 70ish %color. They don't like too much of the blue spectrum. I run 85% to 100% color and peak at 30% intensity. I also had problems with my zoanthid from going too deep into the blue spectrum. I used to ramp from 0%color only up to 50% and back down to 0 and some of my zoas would start to do the mushroom thing. Since changing to mainly a white color things have stabilized and started healing.

I run mine at 100% for 14 hours going from all blue to all white then back down. Each hour it changes to a new spectrum. I also dose and don't do water changes (not recommend). Growth has been great with mine and colors are closer to t5 then my DIY setup was.

What about the intensity????

Interesting. My LPS love getting pounded by blue light. I max out at 25% color. The corals look bonkers.
