Kessil lights dimming when connected to Apex Fusion

I just connected two Kessil ap9x's to the Apex Fusion app. Everything seems to have gone smoothly but the lights are dimming out every minute or so then stay dim for about a minute and and half and then brighten again to correct intensity. The cycle continues non stop. I deleted the app and erased the iota connection and started from scratch again. No change. I'm stumped. Could use some guidance.

Okay, I think I finally see what the cause was even though I'm not sure why. I was saving the changes as 'Custom' changes instead of just making them and sending them to the cloud. Obviously there was a conflict between custom and what should have been. I'd welcome a clearer explanation which would explain the 'why'
