Kessil Mounting Arm

I've been using one of these for about a month now and I've noticed that the small piece that's submerged by the screws is starting to change color. I was just curios if this was going to be a problem later on or not? I could have swore I saw a thread awhile back where this small piece basically just rusted away or dissolved over time etc. Something definitely odd happened to it if I'm not mistaken. Thanks.

I emailed Kessil on this same exact question.

"Thank you for reaching out to us. This is just a normal reaction with saltwater and will not release any toxic materials into the water. The Mounting Arm base is also strong enough so you do not have to worry about its strength."

Hmm.. Let me do some research and see if I can dig up that old thread I saw.
