Hey guys and gals,
Was planning on doing a 360we for a 24"x24"x24" cube. Didn't know if there would be any advantage to doing two 160we's instead? More then likely it will be a mixed reef.

Just because it is more watts doesn't mean it's the better option for his setup. I personally would do 2 of the 160s so I have better coverage. Especially since it will be mixed you can do lower light corals on the bottom.

One A360W-e Tuna Blue is more than adequate on a 24x24x24. I have 2- A360's on my 40 Breeder and only have them at 50 % at 8" above the water and the light is still spilling over the sides. The light penetration is phenomenal with these units.

I would go with the 2 160's. I had 2 360we's on a 4ft tank and was disappointed in the spread. It would have required a 3rd to get the coverage i was looking for. I have since moved them to a 3FT tank and am more than happy. I also have 2 150's on a 20inch cube and feel more than confident they would work just as well on a 24inch cube

Wow talk about all over the board. Would a 160 support lps one the bittom of a 24" tank? Also would it look funny with two pendants on a tank so close together?

This may help you get a better feel for what you are looking for.

Pulled the pics off the net. They look like 24" cubes to me. Maybe 18" high though. 30 Gallon?

What size of tanks are those.

Not mine but I believe they're 57g Illuminata's 36x18x18. Here is my A360 Narrow on my 24" cube (60g). Just right spread wise and the wide version will do closer to 30" spread.

I would probably run two 160s to prevent shadowing. I'm probably going to add one 160 to my setup, which is somewhat similar (JBJ30RL) obviously not a cube.
