Good afternoon everyone,

I have a 90 mixed reef 48x18x24. Now I'm trying to figure out what exact lights I would need. I have read that two A360WE would be enough, but I also read that three A160WE would be sufficient. Is there really a difference between these two options? I'm by no means a light expert.

it would really be pushing it on 3 A160 to cover 48 inches, but i cant be done. but i feel like it would be pretty under powered, with the edges of your tank not getting much light at all

I have the A160WE, set at an angle to cover more area. It does an amazing job. Don't underestimate the power of these Kessils. My tank is 12in deep, Kessil hangs over about 8 inch and I only have mine set to max 55% intestity. I had it higher, but my corals started to bleach... somewhat still are. I recommend the 2 A360s, I can gureentee it will be enough. Also my LFS has a 180g display with only 4 A360s and everything looks great in that tank.

Thanks for the reply! I'm think I'm going to side with the two A360s.

I would go with the A360WEs. They pretty much can do a 24x24x24 cube of space fairly well when hung 10-11 inches over the water.

You actually can email or call Kessil, and they will give you recommendations based on your tank dimensions. I did that back when I was deciding to move to Kessils, and they were very helpful.

Two 360's with a mixed reef will be fine, but if you decide to add more sps, then you'll need more coverage and you'll have to place them carefully. I find that plating, tabling sps do well directly under the lights or off to the side, but branching sps will benefit being placed between the lights in the overlapping sections.

Kessil answered my questions. Pretty quick and informative.
