Using QTY - 9 - H360WE over my 14 foot reef - The Reef just went through a complete tear down and rebuild. The fish and Corals are not back in the system yet, just at the tail end of my fishless cycle using ammonia chloride, SeaChem Seed and Alpha. Switching to the Triton method this go around. The reef had been set up for 17 years prior to the tear down. Using the H380 on the refugium

Has anyone done par readings on their Kessil's and if so, can you share your results and details on the readings. Here's a reading of mine at a depth of about 15"

I can do some on my AP700 tonight. But if you're looking for really good par charts, Bulk Reef Supply has par charts for both the AP700 and A360s in their in depth videos.

Thank you, I've seen them, but I'm not quite getting the numbers they got, i'm entertaining lowering all of them by about 3"-4" as they are now 9" above water. How high above water is your AP700?

Mine is 8 inches off the waters surface. Id lower yours to about 6 to 7

me too.... I had to put magnetic locks on my cabinet and have to move the "tea party table" anytime I need to get to my sump.

Wow, 17 years. I beat you where excited to make some long over due improvements/upgrades, with a system that big you can't just rip it up and set it back up in a day or two.

Thank you, I've seen them, but I'm not quite getting the numbers they got, i'm entertaining lowering all of them by about 3"-4" as they are now 9" above water. How high above water is your AP700?

If you have the wide angel Kessils I would certainly lower them some, at least 3-4". My AP700s don't compare to the A360s as far as PAR measurements.

Also when taking measurements with a PAR meter the reading you get depends on the color selection. 50:50 gives you the highest PAR reading, but PUR is more important as it represents the light in which corals can use. Even if the numbers are lower when higher blue color doesn't mean your colors are getting any less light for health, growth, and color. Also if you look at the sensors spectrum detection sensitivity you will note that further into the lower 400’s sensitivity starts dropping off, meaning they don’t pick up the blue as well.

My par numbers are about the same blue or white in Kessil, the pur is 10% higher on the bluer setting
