I just need a little help with my Spectra Controller - I am new to Kessils and love them so far with one problem. When running them with my spectral controller I am not able to get the lights to go completely off at night. The will run overnight on a deep blue when my setting on the quick set is at 0 color and 0 intensity. I'm sure I'm doing something simple wrong - anyone have an idea why they're not going completely out?

Make sure you set the time you want them to go off and make sure intensity and color are both 0%

Sorry for the delay. I believe there is a moon light setting on the preset. I do not know if it can be edited out since it is programmed specifically to the manufacture's liking. I am currently running my 160s on my own schedule. Worse case scenario, copy their settings down and use the manual mode to make your own. I will take some photos tomorrow that may be able to help you out.

I just set up my light schedule on my Spectral this morning. (using on 2- A360-W's) If your programing on Quick setting #1 , make sure you delete any prior setting set by the manufacturer first. Then try again. I previewed my schedule and my Kessil's are turning off at 0-0 on the last setting point of the schedule. I will see if they turn off on their own tonight. P.S. Any one know if you can change the Military Clock to AM/PM on these things? I can see how some one could slip up on their time schedule using Military time. This controller can be a little confusing at first because the directions that come with the unit are so vague.

I guess what everyone is calling "Moon Light" is 0-Color / 5% intensity. IMO this is still way too bright to be running after the fish and corals bed time. I'll be running a blue stunner strip for my moon light.

I wasn't able to change the military time, I did try and was saying the same thing about confusion. I agree that their "moon light setting" is way too strong. We all know that corals need and do best with a dark period. Plus running our refugium lights at the same time with our main display lights can throw a curve in our ph if your running them all together at one time. When currently running these kessil LEDs, I run the color to only 35% and the intensity at 5%. I started a thread asking what other members are running their intensity at for the sole reason that even at 5% intensity, it will bleach my corals at the bottom of the tank. Zoas specifically. I didn't get any response from anyone. I will attempt to adjust according throughout the future. I've had many different kinds of lights, both led and t5, I truely do love these kessils. Everyone tells me that acans and LEDs don't mix. All my acan kept their variety of bright color and are growing like weeds, plus their fluffiness and polyp extension is exceptional. Maybe the kessil manufacturer has figured something out, as we know they do use their own proprietary led chip ;)

I don't think that they can get the Kessil's to go any lower than 5% intensity for moonlight. I think it has to do with the LED driver and light itself and can not be corrected by a firmware update. Im starting out with only 40% color and 40% intensity at my highest "noon" setting. Have to remember that Kessil's have True UV and your corals have to acclimate to it. Most other LED's only mimic UV. I never could keep Zoa's because I run my tanks very clean. It will be shading my mushrooms and scoly's under rock ledges when I introduce them to the Kessil's . My tank is 16 inches deep.

No moonlight, you gotta go full off ...they dont have a night mode

Dont forget to save your settings.

Kessil lights are super strong I have a 160 on a 32g biocube my intensity is set at 40 percent max and then it ramps back down to 5 percent blues at night and shut off at 0s
