Greetings of the Day,

my tank size is 36X24X15 i am using 2 kessils a350W on the tank and have LPS dominated tank

the problem i face is lack of colours, the acans and zoas are turning orange, dull red and brown and are not showing true colours under the light.

regarding the parameters everything is perfect and i target feed all my corals every day and do water change of 20ltrs every alternate day.

so looking at the colours i was planning to upgrade the lights to full spectrum lights.

I am Planning to use Lumia 5.2 which would cover full spectrum and also planning to add a red and green colour led to it as they don't have it in lumia 5.2

so is this good idea to supplement it ? what would you do if you were me ?

how many red and green led do i need ?

thanks a ton in advance for the help hopping a quick reply

Not familiar with the lumina, but i supplement my 360s with t5s and very happy with the results. I run ati blue plus and ati coral plus bulbs. IMO hybrid is the way to go.

I will add color was not my issue with just the kessils, it was growth. Check your nitrates. I find when my nitrates creep over 1 I get better color in my LPS, but I'm Sps dominant.

+1 I agree 100% go hybrid!

A pair of T5's would be the best to supplement, the broad wash of light is exactly what you need to fill the lighting in your tank. Additionally you can choose a pair of bulbs that provide the spectrum fill that you want, and they are easy to swap out so you can try several different combos.

Green leds only increase how bright we perceive the tank to be, they do not aid in coral growth

1-2 red leds is probably enough, there have been recent studies that too much red will kill coral and another that came to the conclusion that red light acted as an inhibitor to the absorption of blue light...all on advanced aquarist I think, but I can't pull up the sites while at work...

Thanks guys for the quick reply
So if you were in my position what would you do ?
Keeping in mind that t5 is not available here

i am getting Fluval and JBL T5 HO available ... nothing else
so what you guys suggest getting ?

Where is here, and do you have any links for what you are considering? Personally I would build a custom setup using a retrofit kit or individual parts so you could have one T5 in the front and another in the back with the Kessils in the middle.
