Looking for opinions on running a single A360we vs dual A160we. The light(s) would be going on a 50g mixed reef. Tank dims are 24x24x21. I realize the dual 160 setup would cost more, but I'm asking strictly from a function stand point.

I am thinking a single light would work best with a centrally placed rock structure, and duals would cover better if I have an aquascape with 2 or 3 peaks? I am brand new to the hobby (actually still planning my build) so please correct me if I looking at this wrong.

Thanks!

Given the dimensions, I'd like go with two 160s over the single 360; roughly 10" apart and separated about 6" from one another front to back.

Thanks for the input. I probably wouldn’t have thought about setting them like that. I have a drafting/construction background so I’m all about symmetry. I would have put them 8” apart centered over the tank from front to back.

I think 2 would be better for coverage and eliminating shadowing. Also you can tune one more blue and the other more white thus getting some neat looking color aesthetics's where they overlap. I was gonna go with 2 360's on my 92cadlights but went with 5 160's and I think it worked out good for me. Plus if one where to fail you have another to temporarily take up the slack.

I'm a symmetrical kind of guy as well but you can maximize coverage by moving them around a bit. Getting them slightly further apart will minimize the hotspot while increasing the "sweet" spot in regard to intensity. Offsetting them front to back will provide a little more even coverage as well. No sense in having two lights if you're going to orient them roughly the same as a single.

Thanks. Awesome tank by the way.

I went with 2 360we for my 93gal cube,I believe the dimensions are 30x30x24. I didn’t want any shadowing so opted for 2. Better to have more than enough!
