Just got and installed my Kessil WiFi dongle. Now I did replace my wired controller for my A360x with it and can say it adds ease for setting my light program. That being said, I would not recommend buying it to replace your wired controller. I am setting up a frag tank with 2 A360we lights and will use my controller for that....so not wasted money here...

If buying a new light I think the WiFi is easier and less wires running around, however if you are already set up..keep what you have. There isn't any integration via WiFi from a controller ( not even Apex WXM) so understand the limitations.

**What size is your frag tank? I just started my 18 gallon mixed reef with the a360x. Just ordered the wifi dongle also. I am thinking of running intensity at around 30%.. Do you have any advice for max intensity for this set up?

You have a good starting point, so go slow. What are you keeping? Softies, mixed or sps? You now have more control when increasing intensity, before we were stuck to 5% increments, now it's 1%, which is nice. I would increase 2% a week, wait and observe for a week, then increase 1% or 2% more, continue until your corals show otherwise. Rent or borrow a par meter, it's good to know where you are par-wise before going too far.

My frag tank is a 24x48x8 39 gallon tank, however I am probably going to utilize a 60 gallon I just picked very cheap first. the A360we's are more than sufficient to penetrate that tank especially with 2.

So 30% is a good starting point. I have my own PAR Meter so after going through an acclimation period I run my intensity at 70%, however I use a program that ramps..over 12 hours with maybe 3 to 4 hours being high intensity (above 50). The 360x has a great separation of intensity versus color. After 8 months my tank is flourishing.

I would also recommend you use the built in acclimation scheme as it will help you get to the higher par levels with your tank safely. Of course what your final intensity is depends on your tank and the corals you keep. My tank is deeper so I have more safe zones at higher intensity. Your 18 gallon is very small for such a powerful light. a 160 would have done just fine. Height above the tank will also make a difference of what intensity you wind up at. I use the flexible bar so my light is about 6" off the top.

Awesome thank you for the feedback. I set it up with a max intensity of around 25% and i am using the acclimation setting in the app. You are definitely correct that this light is over kill for the tank but i got it for free so cant complain about that lol After a lot of reading i think the intensity of around 25% will be a good starting point for the next few months. My corals are super happy at the moment but i dont want to push my luck. Thanks again and i will keep updating!
