I have a Kessil A160 on my 45 gallon reef and it's about 12 inches above the rank and at 65% but things aren't growing fast. Any opinions on the light?

If that is your only light it might not be enough. I have a A-360WE on a 63 gal square tank and it is sufficient, but my max depth is only 16".

What is the dimensions of your 45 gallon? In my 49 gallon, which is 36x17x17, I used two Kessil A360s. I don't believe a single 150 will be enough for it. You're better off going T5s is that is something you want. You should get better growth with T5/MH

I don't believe a single Kessil 150 will cover it / prevent shadowing. Min. would be to have 2 running over this tank. I would recommend either getting two more 150s (total 3), Switch to 2x A360 WE... or as you suggested, T5 with MH if you can.

This also depends on what you planned on growing. My tank is mainly Acros with acans / torches towards the bottom.

I have 6 hammers, two 1 headed torch, one 9 headed gold torch, two 2 headed octospawns, Duncan coral, big bubble coral , one 2 head frogspawn, 4 inch digitata monti, small monticap and small pocillopora

Kessil says the 160W will cover a 24' inch spread but at a tank height of 12'...your tank is 16' tall so you may need some supplemental lighting

you can try turning up the light but do so slowly, maybe 3-4% a week. also make sure your parameters are stable and there are some nutrients in the water
