Kessill A80

I have an A80 over a small Fluval M40. It seems to do fine with softies. I recently had to remove a decent sized Stylo colony from my DT because it was growing too large. I put it up high in the M40. It’s only been there a few days and polyp extension seems good. I’m just worried about the Stylo long term. Has anyone raised any SPS under this light?

If it’s directly under the A80 and only 3”-4” under the water level at max it should be ok. What light was it under before and at what depth? I’m thinking a A160 might be better for SPS in your M40

It was about 14” down under a Radion xr15 that was 8” off the water. The Kessill is about 8” above the water and the stylo is about 3” down

Wow what a big difference in lighting! Just keep a eye on it but you may need to upgrade to a A160. That XR15 has a lot more PAR then your A80 could dream of. I love kessil lights but those two lights are night and day different with the XR15 being far superior.

Yea... the Radion is over a 90. I moved the colony into a 14 cause it grew too big. Last night, I traded the A80 and 4 frags for a used a160. I can’t wait to see how things work out. Thanks so much for the input!
