Kessils dead at 3 years

2 of the 3 Kessils I bought when I started my reef 3 years ago have died, I thought they would last a little longer than that.

I am surprised my kessil ap700 is prob going on 4 yrs, I have had many kesssils in the past never had a issue

How often did you clean them?

maybe every couple months or more just sucked the dust out of the fan area

I’m not shocked. There seems to be a common issue with Kessils failing, usually due to fans dying. Their lights look great but unfortunately I’ve read enough death stories on them to stay away.

My A350 from 2012 is still going strong. I have some issues with my a360 but it still works. I also have a 360we. I clean them about once a year. I actually broke the lens of the a360 -Kessil make these things real hard to take apart and yes it voids the warranty but getting the baked on dust out means they will last a lot longer.
