I’m really leaning towards kessils over my 48x18x24 90 gallon tank.

How many would I need to get best coverage? I know there are a few different ones but I’m looking at the 160 or the 360

Height of my canopy is rather high so I have room to hang them.

I want kessils as I live the shimmer look of them and this is my fancy new build and I want to get it right

Mixed reef with some sps and acros down the road.

Will have 2 46” reefbrite 50/50 led bars in the canopy also

Hard to say exactly, but maybe take a look at the BRS in depth guide where they give you par and spread for several dimensions of tanks. The TLDR is that 2 a360x's would support LPS for sure. I have 2 over a 36" tank and I'm happy.

I have 2 360x on my 75g which has similar measure to your 90. less depth. 48x18x21
In any case, my par readings and settings are here if you want to get an idea of levels.

I agree with @Bpb

I have two a360 over a 20 long frag tank (30 x12 x12). I have them on at 100% and about 9" above water. The tank is 100% hammer at the moment and packed edge to edge. They are all happy. The ones directly under are the happiest

I think two is a bare minimum to keep lower light stuff but it wouldn't necessarily thrive. 4 would be good and likely support anything you want. Honestly 6 would be "best coverage".

I have a 120 close to your size and I run 3 360wes about 8" off the water and run 80% color and 100% intensity (for 6 hours) 2 hour ramp up & down.

Does the tank have a center brace? If not, I would probably start with 3 x 360 wide angle. Those plus your light bars should work well.
