Kevin's 36 gallon setup

Well that's a problem. My return pump section only holds about a gallon and the 10 gallon aquarium is only 3" off the ground so I haven't quite figured out how to get 5 gallons out without scooping it out of middle chamber with a cup or something

I use a wet Bucket head that you attach to a five gallon bucket to suck detritus and such from my sump during my water changes.

Wet bucket head?

I use it on the tank only, just attach it to a five gallon bucket. It's $20 from
Home Depot.

Ok I got a question. I am going thru a good amount of top off water since I added the 10 gallon sump.... Is this normal. I can't see any leaks or anything and my salinity is staying perfect. I'm gonna see how much I'm using I filled my bucket up to the 3.5 gallon mark at 9pm tonight. I'll give it a few days and see where I'm at.

If you are running the air conditioner you'll see a lot more evaporation than when not using the A/C. I think my top off just about doubles when the A/C is on.

That's so weird how two tanks can be different in those aspects. Last week my AC was down and I topped off more than when it's working.

Ok I'm losing about a half gallon. Big difference from 2 cups (16oz)

Another question. I have both my circulation pumps and my hob filter shutting off on standby mode so I can feed. Should I shut my return pump for my sump off as well?

The only thing I just off during feeding is the skimmer. Do waves stop in the ocean so the fish can eat? Lol sometimes I do put my pumps in feed mode but not that often.

I don't shut off anything during feeding time, when I feed frozen foods I will put my MP40's into feed mode. I would rather have any left over food get into the skimmer (or hang on back filter in your case) than on the bottom of the tank or inside the rocks. With that said the amount of food added at a time should be consumed within minutes.

I don't shut anything off either. I tend to agree with the ocean waves statement. I also don't have Powerhead controllers, so I don't have a feed mode.

Ok still haven't done a water change. Was gonna get to it today or tomorrow. Just checked nitrates. 0 , omg doesnt make sense how quick they disappeared
Only bad thing is done of my corals don't seem to like the change
