This is my smaller yet more mature tank.
Its been up an running a little under two years, since Aug of 2014.
Main Components:
Tank : Innovative Marine 24G
Waterflow : Ecotech MP10
Return: Stock pump
Skimmer : Aquamax HOB skimmer with extra chamber for heater
Dosing Pump : Bulk Reef Supply 1.5ml / minute pump for ALK / CA
Controller: Arduino based controller (designed myself)
Upgraded media baskets: Filter pads + Chemi-Pure elite + Purigen
Maintenance schedule:
1. 30% (~7gal) water change a week (empty entire back overflow box + HOB) to kitchen sink
2. Replace filter pads after each water change
3. Replace chemi-pure elite every 3 months (replaced one at at time)
4. Clean and replace purigen bag when needed ( replaced one at time)
5. Check Alk every month and adjust doser.
Salinity: 1.025
Temperature : 76C
pH : 7.9 to 8.4
Alk : 6.8 to 7.2 dKH
Ca: 380 to 425
Mag: 1380 to 1400
Nitrate : 2 to 10ppm
Phosphate: 0.02 to 0.08ppm
Dosing:
1. 2 part Calcium / Alk
2. Acropower (2ml every night)
3. Zoevit Coral vitality (one drop a day)
Saltmix:
I have been using IO RC but recently switched to Tropic Marine Pro Reef as the ALK is ~7dKH at 1.025.
