Keys Dive Trip

Day three on the ocean side. Not as glassy, but the water wasn't too choppy.

those pics are awesome!!!!!! thanks for sharing! we were in key west snorkeling in july this year and it was terrible compared to your pictures. I guess I need to go back!!!!

Very Nice !
Thanks for posting all the great pics.....Love the gorgonians and sponges...

Thanks everyone! It was pretty cool, we didn't dive any of the designated protected reefs. We just looked for interesting bottom (rocks and coral) and dove in. One place I didn't bring my camera unfortunately, but there was a coral that was shaped like a huge pile of sand (6ftx6ftx6ft). That was the biggest coral I've ever seen! Some kind of encrusting coral I think.

We also fished at a wreck on the last day and caught our limit of yellow tail snapper. We ate very well while we were there. lol. Fresh fish and lobster.

LOL. Well I think the camera did most of it. As for getting the fish to pose, it was a lot of swimming real fast to get in front of them (like the angels and butterflies) then holding my breath to get closer so I didn't scare them with the bubbles. And I took a ton of pictures of the same fish until I got a decent shot. That darn coral beauty was about the hardest to take a picture of. Well wrasses were the worst. Couldn't really get a picture of them, cause they swim too fast!

I'll pick out some of my favorite shots and post them in that thread and what setting I had it on.

great pictures!!! and that is why i love living in florida!!! now about the hole getting dive certified thing...lol!!

Very cool, thank you Sara. Although, as a former diver, I must remind you to never hold your breath while breathing compressed air :nerd:
I have tried to use my camera while snorkling, it is very tough to get clear shots, and unlike you, holding my breath did not help.
Take Care

lol. I got mine when I was like 12 I think. It's not that hard to do, just heavy to have the tank on your back if you put it on out of the water. You could always snorkel, but diving is such a cool experience!

Oops! I guess my love of taking pictures made me take risks. I just had to get the shot!

I tried taking pictures last time I went to the Keys while I was snorkling. Those didn't come out very well at all. Only got the tail end of the fish. They are less afraid of you if you're diving it seems.

Awesome pics and I love the jawfish!

I think I'd better get my dive certification done so I can go down to the Keys myself!
