My tank is about 2 months old. I have added some Zoas, Mushrooms , candy cane, frogspawn, and 3 small frags of red and green monti cap and 1 pink birdsnest coral. My calcium - 450 Mag- 1335 PH - 8.15 and my KH/Alk -6.8.5. So acording to parameters to shoot for, everything is on the high end other than the KH/Alk which should be atleast 8 correct? So do I need to bring this up alone and how do I do this without disturbing other parameters? OR should I leave it alone and continue my weekly 20% water change in my 55 gallon? Testing water every 2 days at 9pm and nothing seems to drop hardly at all. Calcium will jump around between 450 and 475. Everything else is steady using salifer test kits. Phosphate reads 0 and nitrate 5.0 to 10.0 ( hard to determine the test exactly). Thanks you Guys/Gals for all the info, You all are helping soooooo much and I thank you all!

Alk runs out the fastest for coral skeletal elements and what not. You need to be dosing it. Water changes will stress the corals as you are rapidly throwing high alk water at them which can bleach and kill them. Just raise it by a point a day and you will be fine. Raise it to where you salt mix is at keep it there. There are tons of alk additives so whichever you pick is up to you.

Alk is no.1 most important thing to test when you have stony corals.

Thanks for the info I really appr3it!

Do not add directly to tank and little doses better than none at all.
Test regularly so it doesn’t get high in numbers

I bought Kalkwasser from BRS to have on hand when I started to dose but I know this will raise both. I wanted to order the bicarbonate from them to raise the Alk but they are out of stock.I wanted to use this product so I could use their calculator to dose correct amount for my goal. So with that being said, Would say, Kent marine Dkh buffer work or do you know any specific item that I could buy in my case? BRS video says the BI carbonate is best in my case so that it disturbs other parameters less than say using Soda ash.
