So I've been attempting to get this thing running for two whole weeks now with zero luck. It will hop online and work for a short period of time but there has always been issues. I've reached out for assistance and have gotten very canned responses from Vinny, and Marco, while he has been out sick, has not been much help either. Here is my experience:
Item was purchased in late August, early September. I was planning on adding it to my new build but decided to move the old system to a calc reactor and wanted to use the KH directors readings to help me dial it in.
Set up on day one didn't go well. The wheel for dosing pump one kept sticking so the unit wouldn't calibrate. There were a couple of other tech issues that we resolved.
I emailed Marco and he recommended taking the wheel cap off to check for any blockage. The unit was clear and after reassembling it, the wheel worked fine.
We were able to calibrate the unit and the readings were grossly different than my Hanna checker initially. Each test I ran got the number slightly closer until it locked in around .1 less than the hanna and consistently stayed there.
I set up wifi and the mobile app to be able to get my readings from home. The next day I went to work and the app wouldn't connect. It would, however, connect once I stepped foot in my door and was on the same network as the unit. I emailed Marco and Vinny and got very generic responses for fixing the issue.
I began to trouble shoot and saw that there was a firmware update. I did the update and was instructed to power cycle the doser. Accidentally I powercycled the KH Director and Doser. Once it powered back on all kinds of issues arose.
The lights up top began flashing red. THe website say that's due to an alarm and the app said that the fluid containers were empty. Logging into my CPU at home, which is hard wired to the unit, I checked all fluid levels and would move them from empty, to full, back to empty...nothing would reset the alarm. The unit kept reading that they were empty even though it said full on the computer screen.
Secondly, the readings were not coming in a full .5 DKH less than my hanna checker. I went back through the process of empting the measuring chamber and venting the lines. Ran multiple tests and consistently was getting .5 less. This is odd because for 1.5 - 2 days it was rock solid at .1 less.
Lastly, I was having an issue with the time of the measurements not being the same time as the unit was programed to. The measurement reading times were hours different than the actual time in the settings tab (or general tab).
Again, I sent an email trying to get this resolved and got a lot of useless info. I was told to open up the unit and remove a piece of plastic from the vent tube that could be causing bad readings. I removed the plastic and the readings didn't change one bit. I went in and used the offset option to adjust the number to match my hanna for the time being, until I could get help from someone.
I also tried to correct the alarms and found that only adjusting the level on the app would actually save the setting and turn off the alarm, which makes no sense to me.
Saturday the unit read 1.2 DKH, which was a far cry from the 8.1 I was sitting at. I wasn't sure why the low reading and went to do a manual test...low and behold the wheel jammed up again. I hit cancel (or stop) all actions on the cpu and the reading stopped for a second, then kicked back on. I tried 4 times to get the software to stop the test and it wouldn't so I eventually pulled the plug.
If I had this thing set up to dose based off readings I would have nuked my tank. So to this day I've sent 5 emails, called the office in FL twice leaving one VM and I still cannot get an accurate reading, either because the wheels jam, or whatever reason caused it to drop its reading by .5, and I cannot get readings on the mobile app unless I'm at home on the same network, which is absolutely pointless.
The problem now is that I have very little confidence in the product and even less with its support staff, but since I purchased it back in Aug the LFS will not issue a refund.....
Buyer beware with this product.

)) i am having a problem to get a accurate reading. Comparing to lamotte test kit my DKH showing 1-1.5KH lower..Right now i am waiting for 7.5 KH reference solution to compare with my readings..But definitely something is wrong..Prior to switching from P3 to P4 my readings was almost the same as Lamotte.. Any idea ?
