KH Director feed line length

Anyone have experience with a longer than the recommended KH Director sample water in feed line? I'm looking at sitting the box 5 ft from the sump. Yes will be considering this in the volume calculation and will re. calibrate but just keen to hear any negatives (other than the additional water usage - which won't been too bad on a large tank).

I can't comment on the 5' length for the sample line, but the sample size the KH uses will remain constant and the remainder returned to the tank.
