KH Guardian: Automatic Alkalinity Controller- My Experiences

They say accuracy is +/- 0.1

What is the supposed accuracy of the machine; what should the variance be?

I believe the manual says +/- 0.33 dKH for the standard edition and +/- 0.10 for the professional edition. I have the professional edition and I find subsequent measurements to be very close.

Thank you for the information. I was unaware that a firmware update was released. I have been all over coralvue website trying to solve my crazy high readings. Actually from day one it has read an easy 2 dkh higher than all my other test kits.
Really want to get mine close to actual readings. On day one I had a very hard time calibrating due to calibration drifting off set numbers.

Edit: installed mine beginning of November

I think in another thread someone was complaining about much higher readings (~11) and there was a fix...

Long thread ;Singing
So what's the overall consensus is it worth getting ?
Coralvue has it on sale now
On the fence for this unit or the GHL model.

I have found it worth getting for my setup. I have a solenoid hooked up to my Kalk stirrer; so I dose Kalk in the top-off when the KH is below my setpoint. If the KH is above the set point, the solenoid switches off and just water goes into the sump for top off. This has allowed me to lower by KH to a level I like (about 8.3) and yet keep it stable. I have only had it about 2 months, but my acros are really responding well. Of course the long term is really what is important...I won't know for a year or two! ;Nailbiting

Hmm.... so you are using it in conjunction with a Apex ?
Seem like a good deal at $600 with the AIM unit.

I hope coralvue isn’t dropping support of the kh line. If they do good luck getting reagent. Very surprised of the price drop.

I was concerned about that too, but perhaps they were able to secure better production deals now that it's been out. 1300 is way too much for most... FWIW Coralvue told me they are not dropping it in an email...

They seem to have another brand listed.
My concern is the reagent being discontinued .

Anyone have access to the firmware update instructions and files? They don’t seem to be available on the coral vue blog anymore?

I just did mine yesterday everything worked well, no issues.

Where did you get the firmware file? Also do you have the instructions? Seems odd for coral vue to take it off their site!

Thanks guys. Not sure what I am doing wrong, when I go to that link I only see this:
