Hi does anyone use reef factory kh keeper that return their waste water? I have a 20Gallon tank but the actual water volume is only about 60L. I think the kh keeper uses like 30ml per test or more. It would lower the salinity. I’m wondering if it’s ok to return the waste water.

I can’t answer the specific question, but I can bump the thread to see if we can get you some help

It will not appreciably lower the salinity in a normal reef tank. The 30 mL added back is like 0 alk seawater being added. The tiny bit of water from the added acid is insignificant in terms of salinity since it will be the same as a very small reduction in the rate of evaporation.

I see what u mean. So you’re saying it’s totally safe to add the sample back? I actually meant if I discarded the sample every time, the Ato will add water to make up for losses and thus lowering salinity. But I guess if it’s safe to add them back, this won’t be an issue??
