Kh, mg, CA is low!!!!

Hello. One tank prepared 4 month
Kh 3
Mg 300
Ca 150
The more we add CA, mg, kh to tank and then test , parameters drop instead of up!!!
Plz help me how do I do for increasing Kh , mg, ca

What is the salinity of the tank? And how are you measuring it?
And what test did you use to get those numbers?

Salinity should be 1.026 not 1.26. How are you measuring salinity? with a refractometer? The other numbers are so far off nominal that they might be test errors. Are you using Salifert test kits for all 3?, CA, KH and Mg? Most test kits have expiration dates. Are yours past due or current? I wold suggest double checking the instructions and making sure you are following them exactly as printed.

Having said all of that, it is possible to overdose the additives and it results in lower readings, not higher. I'll try to find the BRS video covering that...

Here is the BRS video I recently found that talked about overdosing can cause level to not increase. In any case you should still double check the test kit expiration and procedures

Ok. I have the Salifert KH test kit and I found it easy to tell the color change. Fill the vial with 4 ml of tank water. Then 4 drops from the test bottle, small bottle with KH-Ind label. Then you fill the vial with 1 ml of of the KH reagent solution (large bottle). Add just enough to get the solution to turn ~orange/red. A KH reading of 3 would mean you only had to add about 0.2ml of reagent and you have about 0.8 ml left in the syringe. Is that what you are doing?

Duh. I just realized we might be on different KH scales. Is your KH=3, 3 meq/L or 3 dKH? 3 meq/L is actually not bad since it is equal to about 8 dKH
