80 gallon softy reef- GSP, Xenia, Cabbage leather.

Nitrates and phosphates are near 0. Cal-460, Dkh- 13.

The Dkh is a litle higher than my test kit recommends (12). Just wondering if that is going to be a problem, do I need to try to get it down? Everything seem to be doing fine a looking good.

Leave it be. Stop dosing alkalinity supplements. Worst case do a 50% water change if it start looking bad. What do you dose out of curiosity?

The last time I dosed was several months ago. I used a small amount of Kent's Purple Tech when I moved into the larger tank to help give the coralline a boost. Noting since then.

It might be worthwhile to get a second opinion on your test. What kit(s) are you using?

Get your Alkalinity tested at your LFS those test do go bad from time to time. I know you said your not dosing but I have to ask are you using Kalkwasser in your top off water?

Api reefmaster. No I have never used Kalwasser. Hmm I just retested twice and got 7 both times. I think its time for a new test kit. I also tested with a friends tetra kit and got 7 again. Guess I must have screwed up the first test, sorry. But ty all for the advice.

You might consider going to the Red Sea Pro kits for Ca, Mg, Alk (these three come in a kit)and NO3. I would get a Hanna meter for PO4.
If you don't already use one, you might get a decent refractometer, and some calibration fluid too.

Nemoose, I would like to recommend Safilerts Alkalinity test kit I really like it. Also, you may want to consider dosing Kalkwasser in your top off water. It will help raise your KH and stimulate calcification which in turn will help with your coraline algae. I think you'll get better results than using purple up IMO.
