Hey all. Fairly new to the saltwater water. Tank has been running for a few months. So far it fowlr. I got my water tested at the lfs today and my kh came back at 110. I been trying to look up 110 kh but cant find much. Is there another terminology for it? Thanks.

Alkalinity is defined as how well your water has the ability to resist changes in PH making it more acidic. Normally, acidic water has a pH of 6.9 and under whereas 7 is neutral. 7.1 to 14 means water is alkaline on a logarithmic scale. Without getting to complicated, that is alkalinity and pH in a nutshell. Read the articles provided by Randy Holmes-Farley (Reef Chemist)for a better and more thorough understanding on pH, alkalinity, it’s importance and implications.
