Currently all my rock is in my sump while I slowly fill the tank. I noticed this little guy pop up out of nowhere. I check my rock several times a day just to look for critters etc, and there is no way I missed this one the night before. I don't think it's Aiptasia or Majano, but could be wrong since I have never seen either in person. There are a good number of cup coral on the same piece and other pieces of rock, but this guy looks a little different. Currently no UV light on sump. Thoughts? TIA

That looks like cup coral to me. It's definitely not an anemone, I see the skeletal structure under there.

Awesome thank you. Is the brownish bit the skeletal structure?

I dont think its an aptasia either...leave it alone for a bit and lets see what it turns into.

I like that plan maybe I'll even feed it and see what happens.

The brown part is tissue but through that you can faintly see the septa of the skeletal structure.
