Killer lawnmower Benny?

So yesterday morning I put a lawnmower Benny and a cleaner shrimp into my tank. I have 2 clown fish in there from previous. This morning I woke up and my larger female clown fish is missing couldn't find her anywhere. And just found my Benny dead under my live rock. Any ideas what happened all was fine till I put those 2 in tank. Water test came back perfect Thanks in advance

Lawnmower blennies can be aggressive but only when they are bigger. What size was yours? was the shrimp okay? Lawnmower blennieis are known for harassing some inverts but I have no idea what could have happened to the clown unless it made an attempt to escape.

He was small maybe 1 1/2 inches and yes shrimp is fine.

Well then I dont think it was the blennie then but who knows

The blenny perhaps had a disease or parasites. It is also possible that the female clown got 'worked up' with the new tankmates, and may have jumped out or may be in the overflow if your tank has one.

How long was acclimation for the blenny?

So today I came home from Boston (this all happened while I was away) the lcf gave me a credit for the lawnmower Blenny. So I picked up a watchman goby. With the slight chance that my pistol shrimp is still in there. I put the goby in along with a wrasse that I picked up and heard a crazy amount of clicking look up into the top of my filter and there is the pistol shrimp hanging out on top. Couldn't be happier. Downside I lost a clownfish
