I’m probably answering this already
Will freshwater kill aptasia?

I have them in my CPR90. So a soak in vinegar and fresh water,
I also have a bag of matrix
I was thinking of the heck with and doing the same and let it repopulate all over again
I don’t know if it’s full of Aptasia spores but I’m going to presume so
Thanks

I had some on my Heater recently so I took the heater out and soaked it in vinegar and tap water and made sure their little bodies fell off.

I got some in my sump too I wonder if besides shooting them with a syringe if scraping them off will also kill them

It can help but it also can make a million more babies. They know when they are under attack and act accordingly.

One time mine were out of control so I bought some Berghia Nudibranch and they gobbled them all down with no ill effects.

I have a decent sized one I need to remove and I don't want to remove the rock. Lemon juice, kalk paste, and super glue i hear works , any other known remedy's?

Diligently inspect everything with a magnifying glass while dipping before adding to your tank, that’s my preemptive remedy

I just got my shipment of Berghia Nudibranchs in yesterday. The first one that went in went straight to a small aptasia and took it out. I've done the injecting and stuff and it is way to hard to keep up with their reproduction plus you can't get all of them so it just became a battle that they were clearly going to win. I've heard that the Berghia's take a little bit of time to start to make a sizable dent, but my fingers are crossed and I'm looking forward to these little guys kicking some aiptasia butt! This site has them on sale right now. This is where I got mine from. https://reeftown.com/berghia-nudibranchs

Right now I only have the one that i can see, most likey more. Now am I to understand that with no aptasia the nudi's die?

I have a JBJ AIO that I converted to have a sump. The water still flows in the back and there is a lot in thee. I thought about putting peppermint shrimp in there. How would the nudibranches do

If you are sure the pests are gone you can easily catch them at night and give them to someone else to use. Mine are actually still alive and lay eggs all the time.

I added 10 Berghia back in April but most of them were the small size so I added another 6 of the 1/2" size a month later. Still have a lot of Aptasia but I have noticed some that are no longer there. I was worried at first because of the cost for the Berghia and predation, but the Wrasse is buried in the sand when the Berghia are working and my CBB is in sleep mode and not actively hunting during the night. Hopefully they take care of the problem and I won't have to resort to my next action of adding a Filefish.

One or the other, you can't put both because the Peppermint are predators of the Berghia. The Berghia will definitely take care of them but starve once they are gone. The Peppermint will take care of the problem if it's the right kind and then you can keep them in there to keep the sump clean.

I only have that I can see one or two aptasia in the display. And I look and look hard so I think the shrimp are keep them at bay in there.
I’m going to pull the CPR overflow and clean that in vinegar and clean the back AIO as well as the sump.
Reeftown says not to try and kill them because then they spread, Malev believes in killing them ?

The key to killing them if you use the injection method is to hit the mouth quickly so it doesn't release the spores and being able to get the whole thing smothered with Aptasia-X. I've found that the ones that where easy to get to wouldn't come back but the ones in the holes, cracks or tight spots I would inject and think it was taken care of but have them come back in numbers.

Peppermint shrimp if you can. I had a bunch of them growing on my rocks. Placed two of them in the tank and 4-5 days all gone. Used Aptasia X for a little while in the beginning but i feel like after treatment, more aptasis just kept popping up. Its like the eggs burst and just spread to new spots in the tank.

That’s what the guy at reeftown said if you don’t hit right the first time you’ll release the spores and then you’ll have a tons of them
