Killing avatar chalice

This avatar chalice is growing like anything...I can't remove it since it's rock is stuck in the back. I plan on covering it with black plastic file sheets... And glueing sheets to adjacent rocks.. To block light.

Will that kill it after a month of no light? I know monti bounce back like that but...

Any other suggestions? Thx

Just snap it off where you need to, maybe slide a butterknife under & between monti ,lift up ,snap off
