So this is a very odd question that I didn't think I would have to ask ever, but I've got a 170 gallon Red Sea Peninsula that has 3 fish that I just cannot catch. I had an ich outbreak and caught the majority of the fish out, but I'm left with two damsels and a chromis. Of course the cheapest fish seem to be the best at hiding. I've tried fish traps, fish hooks, draining almost the entire tank, and of course, just netting them. I've got really extensive rockwork with a lot of coral, so taking everything out isn't an option for me. So what I'm wondering... is if there's some way to maybe just kill the fish without harming anything else. I don't want to hurt my corals/inverts, just the annoying fish.

Spear gun! Loaner lion fish might eat them, electricity, just throwing around some really bad ideas;) have you tried tiny fly hooks and frozen food? Or is partitioning off part of the tank a possibility?Maybe give them away? why get them out?

Honestly a single lionfish temporarily because I don't know what other methods you can use but I have thought of one method you could try: red light method during feeding time- turn only red lights on then try to scoop them as they won't be able to see.

Drain the tank to a really low level. When they have no choice but to leave the rocks.

I have had to drain my tank twice to get fish out. It's only way I could. I have 4 cromis I need get out now. My self hate it lol

Have you tried the red light trick? Use just red light (many fish can’t see red) after suddenly shutting off full light(try to black out the room as best you can)
