kindve freaking out(trumpet emrgency)

okay so i went to an lfs on my break from work.....(never again)

and they had a 16 head trumpet coral for 49 bucks!!!! so yea i jumped on it, they wouldnt hold it till later so i had to take it there i figured no big deal he will be okay in the office till 6 hes double bagged lots of air should be fine...

im driving to work(running late) and some idiot cut me off!
the coral which was on the passengers side goes flying to the floor
i heard the snap...and said some unholy words... i looked down and it snapped in half and the bag ripped!

so i got to work and found a small glad ziplock container bag, and poured the remaining water and the two colonies of trumpets into the bag.
now im stuck here till 630 with a ziplock bag of coral that is probably damaged pretty bad any help advice!!!?!?!?

Is the coral completely covered in water?
Keep it warm by submersing the container in warm water as needed.
Keep it oxygenated by swirling the container or removing water from the container and then pour it back in.
It should be fine as long as it's completely submerged. This is way all corals need to wear their seat belts dang it!!!!!!

its in a ziplock baggy right now itll be at room temperature!
ill try to move it around as much as i can do you think it has a chance? lol i was so sxcited!!

Sure it does. It might look like crap for awhile if it was damaged but chances are good it will recover. Might want to dip it and watch for brown jelly just to be on the safe side. Lps are really quite hardy.

It's a shame the piece is not what you originally bought. But now you have two. When i was coming back from LFS a neighbor saw me unloading the car and laughed when he saw i seat belted my bag of corals. Now i dont feel as dumb when i do it. I also carry a small box in back to place bags too small for seatbelt, so i can place on floor so they will not roll around.

cool i still have some hope i was just so excited to see such a big colony for so cheap! glad i still have some hope thanks for the advice tahoe!

Just an update
I dripped them both for an hour then did an rx dip for 15 minutes last night
Woke up today and they are looking good!
Lesson learned! Always wear a seat belt
