It's been a year since I jumped into this hobby, and it's been quite a ride so far. There's been lots of mistakes and learning and money spent. My family is really enjoying the tank - even with all the ups and downs. Thanks for looking.
This is a Red Sea Reefer 350. I stocked up on fish pretty quickly, and have 2 clowns, 2 blue star wrasses, a foxface, royal gramma, coral beauty, and a fire fish. I want to add more, but think I might be at the limit.
I've added corals much more slowly because I was noncommittal about where to put them. I guess I have the beginnings of a mixed reef. There are a few euphillia, gorgonians, some favia, some blastos, one ricordia, a purple stylo, a birds nest, encrusting and plating Montis and a handful of zoas. My last addition was a bubble tip anemone. I have about 20 corals in another tank that I'm using for quarantine/growout, so I may start to fill in the real estate a bit as we go into 2022.
I have been struggling with algae/cyano, too. Things are clearing up after I started dosing nitrate last week.
I totally dig my gorgonians. You only see one here. The other is laying over in the back after a bad glue job.
For some reason I've really grown to love the green and purple favia in the lower right. I placed the BTA in that exact spot, and it hasn't moved in 3 weeks. I hope it stays put. My torch has gotten quite big - it's not fully open in this pic. I was a single head when I bought it 8 months ago, but I think it has 4 distinct heads at this point.
