Starting to dose kno3 in my tank as nitrates are undetectable Red Sea kit. If I’m dosing kno3 would it be a good idea to dose amino acids as well or just one or the other? I have tried researching this topic and can’t find anything

I would go with aminos, kills two birds with one stone.

Agree[emoji1303] , try acropower , polylab has some good products. Take it slow if you start to see some red cayo on the sand may be to much at one time, the tank needs to get accustom to if and or the corals are not absorbing it fast enough. There is a fine line of over doing it.

I've seen it two ways. Most SPS in our tanks already provide itself with the essential aminos but lack nitrates. Some hard to keep acros only provide itself with one amino and therefore benefit. If none of your corals are benefiting from aminos, there is a good chance its not enough to raise no3. If that is encountered, nitrate dosings should be utilized.
