So, first off im not sure if this is in the right forum, either way, I have a koal tang acting pretty crazy all of a sudden. He's swimming around like his in the indie 500, doing laps in and out of rocks, stopping for a few seconds, tilting to the side a bit, then right back at it. Flashed twice that I've seen. Not bothering the other fish tho. Im treating all the fish with spectrum new life ich shield for possible sighting of black ich on my clowns. Been doing that for 4 days so far. I was told that's not what it looked like by the lfs i I work at, but to treat with medicated food just to be safe. Anyway the tang eats just fine. I don't know what his deal is, he's small still, bout 2 and a half inches. Even when he wasnt doing this he seemed to get some light colored abrasions every other day or so....and the kicker is he's in a 47 gallon bowfront, and that may be why hes freaking out, even tho he hasnt before. Yes i know, thats very small for a tang, and im already planning on just brining him to the lfs when i go into work tmrw simply cuz i know its not fair to the fish. A friend broke his tank down and i **** id try and keep him till my upgrade next year since he was small, but I don't feel right about it with all these abrasions and now this crazy behavior. So really im just curious what u guys here might think it is. Thx for any feedback u may have for me

I have a yellow tang that does that occasionally. I think he's fighting with his reflection in the glass, he's flashing himself. He also gets upset when the snails or abalone are in his cave. Neurotic. o_O

Yeah he actually has chilled out a bit as of now. Only lasted for an hour or 2, still might take him back due to the tank size issue. Also. This post was supposed to be titled koal tang acting insane, not lol tang....stupid phone

They don't have anything they host in. I have a hammer coral, a Duncan, some star polyp and 2 sps right now. I've never seen them near the hammer, but I guess it's possible they tried to host in the hammer one day and got stung by it while I wasn't around, and just never did it again. As far as the tang goes, he has calmed down, I am still contemplating giving him up tho, as even tho he's smaller the constant abrasions, albeit very minor, are concerning to me. I posted about the clowns as well, this is a link to that thread if you are interested in my findings. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/black-ich-confirmed.339486/
