Kole Tang blotches?

Hoping for some help in diagnosis. I've had this love tang for three weeks. He's eating and acting normal but started showing the lighter blotches/scratches on its sides a few days ago. There's no growth or anything that appears wrong with tissue other than the discoloring. Also no white dots or anything.

Probably just stress spots. However, I've also seen certain flukes (Neobenedenia) cause this. Any way to catch him and perform a FW dip? That would confirm/deny the presence of flukes.

Love tang was auto corrected from kole tang lol. I may be able to catch him.

Another possibility I just thought of is a nem or coral sting. What is that in front of the Kole Tang in the 2nd pic? You might wanna hold off on the FW dip. See if the spots go away in a couple of days.

When my fish showed that it was because velvet was attacking their gills. Hope that isn't the issue

Do you know where the fish sleeps at night? My guess is that it's just scrapes from trying to maneuver between the rocks.

Or getting stung by sweepers from an LPS. I know a guy who lost a naso to a stinging euphyllia. It was a large colony that couldn't be moved and the naso made his den right next to it. My friend actually watched at night as the sweepers kept nailing the naso. The stubborn naso kept going back to the same spot. Maybe a good idea for the OP to see where this fish is sleeping at night, and whether any stinging corals (or a nem) are nearby.
