i have a new kole tang in qt.

He has this reddish brown bump on back of upper fin. Doesn't seem to be changing. Curious what thoughts are on what this might be? Is it just healing injury of a nipped tail or somehting from lfs?

is it eating? If so I would suggest using metroplex bound with seacheme focus with the frozen. For a extra use a additive with vitamin C to help with the healing and stress of QT. It could just be an ulcer and the antibotic will help with the internal healing and the Vitamin C for external healing

He picks at some nori I have clipped on tank and showed interest in some mysis I dropped in, but never really saw him actually eat any.

I should have mentioned that he has ich and he is two days into cupramine treatment.

But bump was there from the beginning, I was focusing on the ich first.

Any experience mixing metroplex with copper?

Metroplex and copper will mix well enough, but make sure that you've got plenty of oxygenation, as the combination can pull O2 from the water.

~Bruce, who wonders if that lump isn't some sort of embedded parasite - like a fishy oak-gall

I wonder if you can do a freshwater dip on him and see if the brown thing falls off in it.
