Kole Tang has been Eaton and seemed happy for the last 4 months or so. Aye great last night and lots of energy. Noticed tang today was being cleaned by cleaner wrasse. Didn’t see anything on him as far as spots. Couple hours later. Dead. Any suggestions of why. Just did a 20% water change Saturday. Only thing I noticed was my water was a little cooler than tank. 73 degrees is what the temp said on my heater. Thanks in advance.

First; I'm sorry for your loss. :-(

Hard to say for sure, but are there black spots in the second picture? If so, this would be the second occurrence of such in your tank that we've seen, so that's a pretty big indicator that you have an issue in that area. Again; might not actually be the case as the picture makes it hard to tell if that's what it is.

In regards to the temp; do you know why the temp dropped? Did the heater fail? If so, did you inspect it to determine if it could have resulted in anything leaking into the tank?
The drop in temp likely caused a stress event, which would have weakened the fish's immune system. This would allow any latent diseases or parasites an open door to attack and overcome whatever immunity the fish had developed while in the medicated tanks of the LFS.

Edit - I think I misunderstood; was the incoming water 73F? Or did the tank drop to 73F? Or both...? Basically; if the tank had a significant drop in temp, then the above could be the case. :-|

Temp drop was water going in. Must have been what it was. Now my entire livestock is covered in white spots and hippo tang has a glazed over puffy eye.

I have no resources to QT tank. Keep feeding them well and hope for the best is all I know to do. Anymore suggestions would be amazing.

Unfortunately you’re dooming your fish to death. This sounds like velvet.

No amount of feeding will remedy that.

This is your best course of action:

The second post.

The second post.

Thank you. For the info. Very informative. But I do not have the luxury of a QT tank to do all of what is suggested.
Here is the harsh truth unless someone else has a different idea. I’m going to see what fish make it through. Wait it out, basically. But what do I need to do post fish dying? What can I do to help control it in the display tank? Will starfish catch this? Will Shrimp catch this? Are corals ok?

For what its worth, if they are still feeding just soak all your food in garlic guard. And if you can find Saki Hikari probiotics food, it can boost the immune system

I got the garlic guard. Thanks for the tip. Set up a QT. 40g long. Issue I am having now...... all fish look amazing and eating well. The hippo and flame angel have spots on their fines but looks like white dust.
Also what would everyone recommend doing as far a sand in QT for Diamond Goby and Leopard Wrasse? I have not swapped fish over to QT yet. Tomorrow hopefully. Busy schedule.

Update and questions. Fish where covered Monday night in white dust looking spots. Eating good. But swimming into powerheads and brushing against Rock. Hippo tangs eye got puffy. Tuesday day acting normal. Wednesday looking way better. And tonight all spots are gone and hippos eye is normal. With my busy work/ family schedule I have yet to get them in the QT. I have it all setup ready to go. With the fish doing so well would it be worth it to put them in the QT? Thanks again
