I have a spotted Kole Tang since January and it is very skittish. It also doesnt really eat other than cleaning up random pellets that hit the sand. It hasn't lost any weight so I am assume its eating enough of something. Any tips with this fish? I have tried LRS, Rods, etc.

Give it some Nori on a clip or rubber banded to a small rock. Your tang is an herbivore he'll eat algae, algae pellets, etc.. but most LOVE Nori.

Doesnt eat nori at all. Tried on rock and on clips.

That's odd, very odd. I've never seen a tang refuse Nori unless it was some of the cheap Petco boxed Nori. I feed my Foxes and tangs Nori from amazon (Kosher Nori no-less) couple of drops of Selco & liquid garlic and they're maniacs at the clip(s)

I have 3 different kinds in there.

I'm at a loss after you've tried Rods & others. I'm assuming you've tried frozen mysis?

Top tried everything. Seems like they only thing it eats is left over hikari pellets that are in the sand. Definitly odd.

Keep some nori close to where it likes to hang out if you haven’t already.
I once had a Naso that was the same way and he eventually came around.

I would guess you've tried this, but have you tried soaking the nori in garlic?

Honestly, if the tang had not lost weight since January I'd not be worried.

It might be shy from stress. Do you have any fish that are bothering it? What size is your tank and do you have lots of flow and rocks? Have you seen any scratching or signs of illness?
