Kole tang got injured/inf

Hello everybody,

I wish you’re all doing well. Again me here trying to figure out that should I do with my aquarium.
I have 3 fishes in my 200 gallon tang and last week I’ve introduced a new kole tang to my aquarium and unfortunately it got attached by the clownfish so bad. (Photo attached)

The next days it seems better but today my kole tang seems to be dizzy or drunk if I can say and a white cotton candy shaped things are attached to the injuries (I am not sure if this is an infection or she is just trying to cure herself or what).

I need your help, what should I do? She didn’t eat today neither in the morning or in the evening though

Are his eyes cloudy too?

the fish looks thin in the last photo, an injury like that from a clownfish would surprise me. Any other tank mates?

I’m no expert, but I have a 4 y/o Kole Tang that is a model citizen and perfect utilitarian housed with my mated cinnamon clown pair (had them longer). If the clowns lay eggs, which they do at least monthly, they get very territorial. On occasion, the tang can be seen with scars from an “encounter,” but a few days later he’s all healed up back to normal.

I know this isn’t ideal. I don’t want that to happen at all. However, I hope my example eases some anxiety as this has happened a few times in the past to my Kole and it hasn’t led to a death.

Thanks for your reply. No actually his eyes wasn’t cloudy, just his wounds looked scary.
btw the attacker was clowntang not clown fish, my bad
In the same tank I have yellow tang purple tang, clown tang and 2 clownfish.

How are all your other fish doing? The video worries me a bit about Brooks. A lot of times a "Stresser" will trigger the outbreak. Did you do any Quarantining with this guy or did he go straight into the DT?

Hi again, actually the fish was so healthy and was eating very well in the shop and after I released it to my tank.
no quarantine was done to the fish to be honest.She got beaten up a lot unfortunately, and I couldn’t stop that, I am a new reefer!
I would like to announce that she didn’t make it, I just found it dead couple of minutes ago

I'm sorry you lost your fish... Make sure to keep an eye on the other fish as Brooks kills fast. You will simply want to watch for the same thing as you seen, but the first indicator will be seeing a small white bits and the scales looking like they have been peeled off a bit. Brooks can hang around in the tank for 6 weeks so stay alert.

Again I am sorry that you lost your fish, you will learn quickly in our hobby that we all lose something and it never is easy but as long as you can take something away from the experience not all is lost.

I’ll keep asking you guys, I’ll keep my eyes on the others and let’s see how is it goin to end.
this is what I said to myself today, this is my 4th lost fish (2 small clownfish, 1 blonde Naso and 1 Kole tang) they are all passed away from different reasons and I am learning, I’ll make sure that I don’t do the same mistake again.

Clown tangs are very aggressive, adding a tang to an incumbent dominant tang such as that is a "worst-case scenario". I wrote an article on tang aggression, you may find this helpful:

My clowntang is a monster however his size is small (5-6 cm) but he is so active and cocky.
I’ve read you amazing post, It’s really helpful, I wish I could have read it before I put my fish into the tank with such monsters.
But let’s look at the bright side, I’ve learned a lot from this experience, next time I won’t lose a fish for such a silly mistake.
