I’ve introduced healthy beautiful Kole tang 5 days ago into my main tank He has not eaten off seaweed clip or eaten fish frenzy / cubes since introduction . He is a little skiddish and hides He does follow my melanurus wrasse around like a lost puppy !! when I’m close to tank Ive seen him grazing on live rock though but I do not have much algae in this system . Curious of any Other ideas with getting a tang to eat That has worked .? I thought about attaching sheets to a piece of live rock with rubber band this evening or just be patient and let the tang get used to clip? First tang I’ve had feeding issue with?
Thanks !

Was he eating while in QT? Or before purchase? Trying the sheet of Nori on a rock may work. Or try a quality flake or pellet to see if he prefers that. I only had one Tang go straight to the Seaweed upon entry to DT. May just need a little more time. As long as he isn’t showing signs of disease or weight loss maybe give it a couple more days. Hope it works out for you.

My go to is always live - brine or blackworms. I just had difficulty getting a powder brown to eat in QT. It took a while but live blackworms did the trick.

Thanks for the info! He was eating seaweed sheets at LFS for the past month. I have been keeping an eye there and finally bought .
I actually just got home and it appears he finally found the seaweed clip! It’s all gone ! I will keep an eye on him though .

Live clams from the supermarket, so far it is the only thing I can get my Kole tang to eat consistently. I have had him for almost a month and purchased from DD. I am hoping he will take frozen soon.

Just split the shell apart and throw in the tank. He will tear the flesh straight from the shell.

FWIW my Kole Tang goes absolutely crazy for Hikari Seaweed Extreme. I'd go straight for the medium wafer size if you do, they still aren't all that large. The small ones are tiny and found they get missed a lot. Even when the Kole Tang was small he had no problem eating the medium ones.

I do feed nori and other stuff as well, but those pellets he goes bonkers for 5 years and counting.
