So I have a kole tang in a 55 corner tank. It’s been doing really good with all the other fish. He still eats perfect, swims around very happy. But he does have two soars on him which I’m almost positive is from a BTA that is very close to the cave he likes to swim in and out of. My LFS has told me several times over the years that ich doesn’t kill fish, that it’s a result of stress. Could getting stung have caused him to get stressed enough for ich to start going after him? And if he continues to eat and act normal is this cause for concern? Thanks in advance.

Check this Thread out:

I personally would get the tang out, and do a QT if able. I always suggest The TTM Method to get the Ich out. You will now have eggs in your DT so you would have to do a Fallow Period. Check out this thread here:

I hope this helps, I know its never the answer that we want to get but its the only way to beat Ich. Also make sure its not Flukes or an infection as Tangs will get infections on their mouths from picking on the rocks all day.
