Hi All,

I currently have a kole tang in QT. Its on day 10 of copper at 2.3ppm. I noticed some markings that look like scrapes. I was wondering what they were? anyone have any experience with this?

Could it have been injured in transport? Or injured by anything else in qt with it?

So it didnt have it when i first got it.
All i have in the qt is a tubing, heater and powerhead.

Have you seen anything that would indicate aggression from the Flame Angelfish?

I see markings like that come and go on a lot of the tangs I have kept over the years. I just assumed they got it scraping against some rock. Doesn't explain your empty quarantine tank though.

Could be the start of a bacterial infection since copper lowers immune system. May want to start antibiotics now since they take a few days to a week to kick in

With the copper at therapeutic, and the fish's immune system being stressed, I'd definitely consider dosing the fish with antibiotics. You have Spectrogram? Good stuff.
Also consider lowering the copper to 2.0 and remember you can pull the fish after 14 days and place into a clean, sterile QT to observe for 14 days.

It seems that most Tangs, maybe with the exception of the Zebrasoma genus, are so much trouble. Fragile fish.

I love Tangs but if I had a tank that’s 5-6’ I’d probably just get a Foxface Lo or One Spot Foxface until I get experienced.

Is it ok to use spectro with copper?
