Kole Tang

tangs in general love them some alage. A sheet of nori is always good to have on hand. They should also eat pellets and frozen food like other fish.

Like always, the better the food the healthier the fish. What size tank do you have?

I have a related species, Ctenochaetus binotatus, the two spot bristletooth. It eats most anything, loves spirulina brine shrimp, but also goes after LRS Reef Frenzy pretty well. I have used algae pellets, but that is not a huge hit. Algae sheets get attacked as well.

Algae in your tank and make sure to give it a little bit of nori as well

I feed mine mysis. I tried 3 different kinds of seaweed and it had no interest in any of them.

In general, tangs are greedy pigs. I watched them feed in the shallows while I lived in Hawaii for 18 years. My tangs in the current reef tank eat pellet. flake foods as well as nori.

My kole tang hates nori. She won’t even touch it. I got her some kelp flakes and she eats that. She also eats frozen foods when I feed my other fish/coral. They tend to spend all day grazing for algae on the rocks.
