I agree! But at the same time I think the deepest darkest blue would be pretty cool also. So if you want something just a little different that would be a good choice.
I've always done black on all my tanks. You should do what makes you happy though!

I've always liked "light" box backgrounds when done right. Some I've seen look amazing with the illusion of depth. Light transition from lighter color to darker color towards the bottom is cool too.

I love the transitions as well :D

Joe, I haven't really been around the Forum much in the past few months as we're having somewhat of a family crisis and I'm having to be the one to pick up the pieces so to speak. I have had very little time at all to myself. That being said I will get a break at some point tomorrow and catch up on your thread :)
Sorry to hear Jackie. Keep up the good work, wish we could lend a hand.
There does seem to Be a lot of this going around

Yep. All know all too well. Rains it pours (sometimes a monsoon!)

Haha, sure does! Hopefully in about a month I'll be back hanging out at the Forum with all of you, my friends :)

Tidal looks good, so does inked ... ultimately it’s what you think will look good. You will be staring at it more than any of us. If you really want an ocean perspective I think you can take a photo on your next dive and blow it up, cut it to size and use as your background. Awesome conversation piece and it will be as close to the real thing as possible

Thank you everybody for your comments.

I need to change the color of the overflow box. It sticks out and is ugly. I thought it was krylon spray paint that was safe for water contact. I want it to be black. Its either paint it or cover with black acrylic. What do you think.

I would glue a black acrylic cover on it, should strengthen it as well.

I went with the color inked. Maybe it's because I have tattoos.

Waiting for first coat to dry and then I'll do another tomorrow.

I can't wait to show it off. But you got to wait. Hehehehe.

Bought one of those light fixtures to get a look at it. Not sure what I'm going to do yet but I have ideas hummm.. 0-10v dimmable power supply in this thing.

Glass has to be cleaned up but you get the look. Now just have to spiff up the over flow box.

And just for reference the led light strip on top is 4 feet long. Just a tad bit of real estate in this tank.
