Koralia evo

they all do that, just leave them on to make it go back right, just turn the plug around and over time they loose power , get a new impeller you get what you paid for

Well hey, not everyone can afford a vortech, fishdoctor :) . I got it working right, so I'll stick with this until someone has an mp40 they'd like to donate.

I have a MP-40 and hate it, I plan on going to a few koralia's and a wave controller. Expensive is not always better, Vortech's are not all they are cracked up to be, mine will be up for sale soon.

Had the same issue with my pair of koralias on my RKE controller. Gave up and just left both on all the time and saved up for a vortech. Got an mp20 for a good price and didn't even need the koralias anymore, got better flow and corals are way happier with one vortech. Honestly just save your pennies for a vortech, you will be glad you did once you have it up and running and see the difference with your own eyes. I'm actually upgrading it to a 40 this week to have even more flow for all my sps corals.

Hah, and in a matter of days you will realize your mistake running koralias on a wavemaker and want the mp40 back...

Not everyone has issues with koralias guys. This wasn't meant to be another "which is better thread". I'd personally love to try a vortech in my tank. It'll have to wait until I can justify spending that kinda money though. :) until then, I'll be with koralia, just like a good chunk of people here!

FYI , I ordered a sunsun 1300 off of ebay for $22 free shipping, been running about a month with no problems, dont know about putting it on a controller though. I just needed more flow and didnt have alot of moola to spend right now. Happy with it so far. Think I might get another one.

I have the same problem with Corallia powerheads. Month ago replaced with JBJ 1600 and reversing problem is gone also clicking noise is gone.

Koralia Evolutions are not supposed to run backwards. If they do, contact Hydor Customer Service for free replacement parts, they are very good about this.

You either have a cracked front grille which allows the rubber bump stop to fall out or the bushing on the shaft has slipped, both are easily taken care of if you describe the problem to them.

My parts arrived in less than a week.

My Evos ran backwards and I contacted customer service and got parts pretty quickly. However, they continued to run backwards after that which really mad me mad. I bought Vortechs and never looked back. There are a bunch of threads on RC and here regarding them.

I have mine in the sump to keep it clean and they stay on most of the time. Whenever I do a water change, I have to turn them off....and guess what they do when I turn them back on? haha. I have to manually stop and turn them the correct way.

Then you got the wrong parts. They will not run backwards if repaired properly. There were two different unrelated issues with the early model Evolutions and one repair will not cure the other.

Both of mine have been working correctly for the past couple days. However, the Evo 1050 is quiet, but the 1400 makes a click when starting up. Is this correctable? The 1400 is brand new.

I got some of the first Evos from Premium and quickly discovered them running backwards. Hydor (I believe it was a Mike that helped me) sent me the new bushings that didn't fix the issue. After cleaning them many times and putting new bushings in that were "supposed" to fix it...I was done. I was excited to get them running but they were nothing but a disappointment.

I had a clicking sound on one of mine but discovered it was the Reefkeeper Lite mechanical contact on the PC4 not the powerhead.
