hey guys, i have a huge tub of water now with some salt in it. i wil be using this saltwater for my new tank. i planned to dissolve it over night by using my new koralia 2 powerhead. so i hook it up plugged it in, and it didn't start at all. my question is, am i supposed to turn a switch or rotate the head of it? i need answers asap, i need this salt to disolve and not sit there.

Has it worked in the past? Does it hum when you plug it in? Perhaps it needs to be cleaned so try pulling the prop out to see if there is excess buildup. The pump itself should work without the front cover (which is used to correct the direction it is spinning and to keep fish from becoming mangled).

it may be clogged up, the person who sold it to me wouldnt have sold me a broken one. is it supposed to turn on right when i plug it in? it doesnt hum at all.

Yes, it is supposed to start spinning right as you plug it in. I would twist the front cover off and take a look at the prop to see if there is excess buildup on the magnet or the bottom.

problem solved, thanks finns. there was just a bunch of buildup preventing it from spinning. now its in a tub dissolving some salt into 20 gallons of fresh water.
