Hello all,
I have the Korallin Sulphur Denitrator installed and running for a month now. Here are the results. My NO2 is elevated as my NO3 are decreased and my ph is high. I had my drip rate from the effluent at 1 drip every 2 seconds. I just now set it at 1 drip every second. Is this correct? Will my NO2 levels go back to zero? Any help is always appreciated, thank you.

You need better test kits. Those are very inaccurate and very dangerous to use with a sulphur denitranator. Get salifert.

Thanks for the tip, I'll be searching Amazon for this later. However, does anyone know if my NO2 levels will drop? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I’ve tested my water just now, here are the results:

I’m absolutely stumped with this. I’ve had my Sulphur Denitrator running for over a month with 1 drip every 2-3 seconds. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any one with ideas or suggestions please let me know. I have a 90 gallon saltwater FOWLR tank. I only have a large snowflake eel, no fish at all. I’m hesitant to add fish now because of the NO2 and NO3 levels from the effluent. Any help is always appreciated.

Since you may have nitrite based on that measurement, the nitrate reading is suspect and may be much lower than it appears because some nitrite can show as a lot of nitrate with a nitrate kit.

Thus you may have little to no nitrate in the effluent.

I'm not sure how to tweak such a reactor so there is no nitrite, but the usual suggestion is to reduce the flow rate to try to reduce the nitrite.

Thank you for your reply @Randy Holmes-Farley My effluent rate is 1 drop every 2-3 seconds, it's been like that for over a month now. I'm hitting my 6 week mark exactly 1 week from today.
