KorD's future Nem tank

Sometimes the simpler we go, the nicer it can be. ::

I saw a pic of a BTA but didn't see your LTA in there. Do you have a pic of it?

Here is the LTA
It is still trying to settle in and find it's forever spot.

I will be picking up wild fresh from the sea rock flower anemones in a few weeks when we are on vacation. I know a spot where there are hundreds of them.

Had an issue with my powerhead.. somehow it fried itself and was pushing more power then normal.. kind of an odd thing to happen. It blew crushed coral all over my rock scape.
Whelp.. it is now in the trash and was sworn at a few time.. that bugger threw an arc when I unplugged it and shocked me.

A fast online order from Amazon and now I'm back in business.. love the same day prime delivery they offered on the wavemaker.
Anywho.. I might have ordered a size too large. It really gets the water rocking. The clownfish really didnt have to swim to the other side of the tank.. but now they are loving the rocking motion once I dial it in perfectly.

I have just picked up my saltwater fishing license that is required next moth for when I go to the gulf and adopt local rock flower anemones for my tank. I heard the area I was pointed towards is just littered with them all over the rocks. I was given this info by DNR and was told to have a good time. I also had to promise not to let out the secret area, and not to harvest to sell.

I know they are not going to be the ultra nems, but I was told some they collected we're just beautiful none the less. That is why I got into this hobby.. it was for the experience and love of the ocean, not to spend billions in corals.

I started having issues with red slime.. I tried about 7 different things before getting mad and having to get nasty with my tank.. I swore at it for a few days, then I told it how much I loved it thinking it would change it's mind and just get rid of the slime because it was trying to spite me. Then after that didn't work, I swore at it and then added chemiclean....

24 hours later no red slime at all. Maybe I should have done that to begain with.

Anywho.. no one cares really, so here is a pic of my BTA and clown.

Glad you got ride of it. The bta chnaged colors, do anything different ?
Nothing different really.. I did find out that it wants food more often then every 4 days.. I started to feed it more often in hopes of it splitting.

Lol, it's all fun and games until they start splitting! I couldn't tell you how many we have in the wife's Biocube now. Put one of hers in my tank now I have 2 or 3.

That's what I am hoping for. My female clown will not let the male near her BTA. I hope for to split many times so maybe he can have one also [emoji23]

It took months before my female stopped beating the male up and a couple more before he could join her in the nem.

I have had the clown for just over a month. They would swim together at first with her being mean to him nipping and chasing. Then the nem came along.. she got greedy, and claimed it within a day.
Now she only goes after him if she thinks he is too close or if she is trying to keep him away from the food.

Yes, but they are called blue maroon lightnings. They have a hint of blue on the upper and lower torsos by their fins
Ah, I thought they were. Mine are gold lightnings. Yep, the females are fun.....not.:D

Yah.. she can be a little nippy when I feed the BTA or clean the tank.. that's why I got them. Maroons have the best personality and are the watchdogs of clownfish.
Besides the price.. I would not think twice about getting them again.. love them!!!

I really want my 4 to start splitting. Started feeding almost everyday

I'm hoping for a split soon. I noticed the oral disc is becoming oblong.. hopefully it's not much longer.
I am going to give it Mysis shrimp twice a day and hope for the best.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh the power of the magic eraser... I didn't believe a thread I saw yesterday(kind of really skeptic about it really) but today I am a believer.
Here is the deal.. get yourself a magic eraser (original kind with nothing added), grab a fish fillet knife and cut about a 1/4 or thinner. section off the size of you magnet scrapper.
Slap the magic eraser on and start working the tanks acrylic or glass over getting off the algae. Dang it works like a charm. Even gets off the stuff my magnet scrapper leaves behind I normally have to go after with a plastic razor blade.

Yay no more wet hands for me for a while. Well... Besides when I have to go around the corner.. the eraser does not hold to the Velcro very well... Well I will have to come up with a new fix for that sometime :)

The fishy acclamation is going to happen for the next hour.. better safe then sorry.. so far my Pitt has not left the container is is watching the fish.. she is such a nutty dog.
